FAMILY LAW
Family law can feature the highest level of emotional involvement for the client. It is therefore important to have trusted counsel guide you through the process. While recognizing the emotions involved, we endeavor to put our client’s needs first and establish a sound relationship that results in us attaining the best possible outcome for our client.
We can provide service at any stage of the relationship, whether it is before the relationship begins, in anticipation of a relationship breakdown or after the relationship has broken down. Depending on the stage of the relationship we can draft pre-marriage, cohabitation, or separation agreements that will be customized to fit your precise situation.
When a relationship deteriorates, no matter the length, it can be an extremely difficult time involving great emotional and financial expense. In order to limit both emotional and financial expense, it is often necessary to have legal counsel on your side.
Heath Law can guide you through the entire legal process including attending judicial case conferences, making court applications, attending mediations, and conducting trials. During the legal process, we will put our minds to the division of family assets, spousal support, and if there are children of the marriage, child support, and parenting issues.
To avoid unnecessary hostility, we encourage the Collaborative Law process, or at the very least, a non-adversarial approach. However, where this is not possible, we are prepared to proceed in Court, as is necessary.
